Weka weka - Starboard Arm, North Cove

Enjoy island life in this spacious family home set amongst redwood trees and native bush. Four bedrooms, a large living area and decks with all amenities.

Access from an all-tide wharf, then a 15 minute shoreline walk to the house and a tidal jetty in front of the property. Birds aplenty including kiwi at night. Ideally suits family groups and boaties. 

There is plenty to keep everyone entertained with swings, games, kayaking, swimming, walks or just sitting in the sun on one of the decks.

Kawau Cabins and Caravan

Built 2022 the Kawau Cabins were a haven for the Kawau Boating Club staff and have now become ideal holiday accommodation for island visitors.  The three cabins are identical in layout with a double bed in each, linen provided including bath towel.  The ‘Ginny’ caravan has a double and 2 divans.

All the accommodation enjoys the use of the communal kitchen facilities including stove, oven, microwave, electric pizza oven cooker, multiple fridges and large freezer.  All pots, pans and utensils provided along with a Weber BBQ.  A large 10 seater table is poised under the pergola on the large deck for your fun communal dining.

Facilities include a shower and toilet cabin. 

This is an ideal location for those wanting a family island break away or maybe you are a fishing group or just want to come and enjoy the tranquility for a girls/boys weekend away!  And all only 5 mins walk to the Kawau Boating Club.

The George

The George has been a much loved rustic island cabin for the last 3 years situated on our property behind the Kawau Cabins.  Offering a super comfy queen bed and two singles – two rooms separated by a barn door.  There is a small fridge, bench top oven, plates, utensils etc and tea, coffee and milk provided.

Facilities include an outside shower and toilet to the side of the main house (20m walk). 

This is an ideal location for those wanting a tranquil break away – listen to the birdsong (Kookaburra, Weka, Tui, Kiwi) and swim at our waterfront on the high tides, or off our jetty.  All only 5 mins walk to the Kawau Boating Club.

Cabins: $120 per night (2 people) $25 per night per extra person

Lidgard House

The Lidgard House is owned by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. This historic beach house has recently been refurbished. There is a BBQ on the deck which looks out to School House Bay and for those who don’t want to cook, the Kawau Boating Club is just a short walk around the boaties path.

The house and garden can also be hired for corporate functions and weddings.

Rate: The House tariff is $450 per night for RNZYS members and $600 for non-members.  (Minimum 2 nights). Rates are subject to change so please check first.
